The standard we build to
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, Level AA. This is the technical standard the U.S. Department of Justice has adopted for web accessibility, and we treat it as our benchmark.
What we have done
- Semantic HTML with a single page heading and a correct heading order
- A skip link to bypass repeated navigation
- Visible keyboard focus on every interactive element
- Text and interface colors that meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratios
- Layouts that reflow to 320 pixels without horizontal scrolling
- Reduced-motion preferences respected
- No JavaScript, so nothing breaks when scripts are blocked or slow
Known limitations
Accessibility is ongoing work rather than a finished state. Automated testing catches only part of what matters, so we welcome reports from people using screen readers, magnification, voice control, or any other assistive technology.
